I'on Wanna Go

In a little under an hour, my flight will take off, ending my summer in New York. I've had the best time of my life here. I can't remember the last time I've gone through such a stress-free period of time (Perhaps because it doesn't exisit?).

I've been thinking about this entry for a couple of weeks now. How would I describe all of the fun I've had in this city? In what way can I show gratitude for the opportunities this city has presented me? Is there really an eloquent way to say that I've come to love New York so much that the once considered stinch of sewer-rat fried rice and fish down at the Canal Street train station has become the sweet aroma that reminds me of home?

I'm not sure how the rest of the year will go for me now that I'm leaving. I'm likely to enjoy my week or so in Houston, but I know the longer I stay there, the more I'll be reminded of why I have to get back to New York. D.C...eh, it's ok. Love mombo sauce, but hate go-go (I'm only beating my feet to kill a roach or escape the warpath of one of the area crunk-juice drinking rats), the slow metro, and the traffic. Or maybe what I really hate is that it's not New York.

A lot of people have been saying, "You're having way too much fun in New York." My usual response, "It's about damn time." Here's to hoping I can make my way back...employed.

The Cynical Ones.
