I suppose this is what I get for reveling in the moment, but incase you haven't heard (which I doubt, because it's even on
CNN), Paris Hilton is out of jail about 20 days early (from an already reduced sentence), proving money, celebrity, and one tactful lawyer can make the justice system an even bigger joke than it already is.
It's been reported that Paris was released from prison in favor of house arrest for medical reasons. For hours everyone debated on what that medical reason might be. Most speculated it was something herpes-related, but
TMZ is now reporting that her illness is mainly in her head and not a result of her giving it.
Psychiatrist Charles Sophy visited Hilton in jail yesterday and the day before. We're told after Sophy's visit yesterday, word was passed to the Sheriff that Hilton's mental state was fragile and she was at risk.
Bless this poor girl's soul. She was given a free pass on something your average citizen wouldn't, then violates her probation and as punishment, got only a small fracture of what she actually deserved. Not even staying in a regular holding cell, let alone a real prison, she basically sat in time out for three days, while likely making plans with her attorney on how to spin all of this publicity in her favor to make more money for herself. This of course, caused severe emotional distress, but despite that same distress being shared by any person entering jail, it obviously matters more, because she's blond with a famous last name. My heart aches for the pampered herpes-carrying whore.
I'll give her this: She sure knows how to get herself out of trouble.
The Cynical Ones.
