This will probably be my last post about Chrianna for a while. Probably a long while. Quite frankly, I'm tired of both of these two, and now that word has come out that Rihanna has decided to embrace her inner Tina Turner, I don't really want to write about them.
I will say this, though: I find it all unfortunate. I'm tired of people saying, "We don't know the whole story." No, I wasn't there to film the incident, but I saw the picture so I know the end result. I also know that domestic violence victims tend to go back to their attackers. It takes a certain type of personality to willingly be a punching bag, and the person doing most of the swinging is usually aware of this.
Every chance I get I tell my niece she is the most beautiful girl in the world. Some would say I'm making her arrogant. Whatever. She has her mother to bring her back to Earth. My intention is to make sure that no one in the world can ever make her feel less than. I also remind her that she's smart to remind her how great she is on the inside, too. This way she'll know that she is to be treated special because that's what she is. just
I don't know Rihanna like that. I've only seen her once a few years ago when she was just started out, which means I don't know anything about her beyond the image crafted for her.
If I did know her, I'd definitely send her a playlist with the hopes that she'd sing-a-long and let some of the message seep in.
Rihanna's playlist:
"Kung-Fu Fighting" "Beat It" "Love Is Blind" (The World Isn't Thanks To TMZ remix) "We Have Something In Common" "Hit On Me" "Smooth Criminal" "U.N.I.T.Y." "Rain On Me" "I Can Love You Like A Woman (Or I Can Fight You Like A Man)" (Thanks, Clay) "Rehab" "Shut Up And Drive" (Why Didn't He Mix) "Runaway" (And Don't Look Back)
Then I would ask her friends to take her whips and chains out of the closet and use it to restrain her into a chair so she can watch Enough, What's Love Got To Do With It, and this video:
Although she ended up stabbing her husband with a butter knife, the video sends a good message. I guess I'm being judgmental for criticizing a man who beat a woman down in the street. Oh well.
One more thing:
Chris -- who looks like he's recreating the wind up leading to the punch that left Rihanna bloodied and bruised -- doesn't seem to have a care in the world.
He can look forward to captions like that for the rest of his career. You've got to be bold as hell to pose like that considering the situation he faces. I hope he still gets charged with something.
The best comment I've read about this entire situation came from someone's Twitter account. They quoted one of their nieces (6 or 7 years old) saying, "Did Chris Brown beat up Rihanna? Chris Brown is a stupid head."
